SUMO MAYA

SUMO MAYA - Scottsdale
Mexican/Asian fusion restaurant

If you're looking for a fun/hip/eclectic place to dine in Scottsdale, I recommend checking out Sumo Maya.  It's Mexican food crossed with all types of Asian, and I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised.  Expect unique items like Mexican Pho, Kimchee fried rice, Pork "al pastor" Pad Thai, Pomegranate Guacamole, etc..   It also has a great bar, fantastic decor, and indoor trees.  (See dining room picture below.) Here's some food pics.  Enjoy!

INK. RESTAURANT - LOS ANGELES

Ink. Restaurant - Los Angeles, CA

One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles is the always solid and formidibly unique restaurant Ink. by Michael Voltaggio.  Described as smallplate/tapas of modern Los Angeles food, the name alludes to permanence, bringing bold flavors and a wide variety of dishes.  (I also really love the sandwich shop spinoff next door called InkSack; some of the best sandwiches in town.)
Some of my favorite dishes are the charcoal cooked potatos, which happen to be cooked with squid ink and sea salt, one of many molecular-tweaked dishes that will suprise you in a good way.  Or ths recently added radish dish where the radished are dipped in liquid nitrogyn and then dipped in goat cheese for a very mouth pleasing effect.
Adventurous eater or not, everyone will find something on this menu that will titillate their tastebuds.  I give it five stars and highly reccommend a visit.
